Betstrike is expanding its in-house casino games portfolio and is looking for a talented 2D Game Artist specializing in slot games. This role involves creating visually captivating and thematic art assets for online slot titles, from symbols and backgrounds to animations and UI elements. You will collaborate closely with game designers, developers, and mathematicians to deliver high-quality, engaging visuals that enhance player immersion and align with brand standards. The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio of casino/slot game art, excels in stylized 2D design, and understands the unique demands of real-money gaming visuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualize and create high-quality 2D art assets for slot games, including symbols (low/high pays), wilds/scatters, backgrounds, reel strips, bonus screens, and thematic elements.
- Design intuitive and visually appealing UI/UX elements such as buttons, menus, paytables, frames, and HUDs tailored for desktop and mobile play.
- Produce frame-by-frame animations and effects (e.g., spinning reels, win celebrations, particle effects, character animations) optimized for smooth integration into HTML5 games.
- Develop complete visual themes based on game briefs, from initial mood boards and concept sketches to final polished assets.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure assets are optimized for performance (file size, resolution, sprite sheets) while maintaining visual fidelity across devices.
- Create promotional materials, such as game thumbnails, banners, and marketing assets for casino lobbies and campaigns.
- Iterate on feedback from stakeholders, playtesting, and player data to refine visuals for maximum engagement and retention.
- Maintain consistency with brand guidelines and ensure all art complies with regulatory requirements (e.g., clear visibility of RTP, responsible gaming messaging).
- Stay current with slot game art trends, popular themes (e.g., adventure, fantasy, classic fruit), and competitor titles to inspire innovative designs.
- Manage asset organization, versioning, and documentation for efficient team workflows.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience as a 2D artist in game development, with a focus on casino slots, social casino games, or similar iGaming projects.
- Strong portfolio showcasing released slot games or high-quality 2D casino art, including symbols, animations, and full themes.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Spine (or similar for 2D animation), and other industry-standard tools.
- Solid understanding of color theory, composition, lighting, and stylized art techniques suitable for vibrant, eye-catching slot visuals.
- Experience creating assets optimized for mobile (responsive scaling, portrait/landscape) and web-based games.
- Knowledge of slot game mechanics and player psychology (e.g., what makes symbols "pop" or animations exciting) is a strong plus.
- Ability to work iteratively in a collaborative environment with developers, designers, and producers.
- Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git, Perforce) and asset pipelines for game engines (PixiJS, Unity, etc.).
- Passion for online slots and casino games, with an eye for detail and trends in the iGaming industry.
- Fluency in English; ability to interpret game design documents and provide creative input.
