BetStrike is growing its in-house casino division and is seeking a talented Frontend Slot Game Developer to create engaging, high-performance online slot games. This role focuses on building visually stunning and immersive slot experiences using modern web technologies, with an emphasis on smooth animations, responsive design, and seamless gameplay across desktop and mobile devices. You will work closely with designers, backend developers, and mathematicians to bring innovative slot concepts to life while ensuring compliance with iGaming standards. The ideal candidate has a passion for casino games, strong frontend expertise, and experience in real-money gaming environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop frontend logic and user interfaces for online slot games using JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (e.g., PixiJS, Phaser, Three.js, or custom WebGL/Canvas solutions).
- Implement high-quality graphics, animations, particle effects, and sound integration to deliver captivating player experiences.
- Optimize game performance for low latency, fast load times, and smooth frame rates on a wide range of devices and browsers.
- Collaborate with game designers and artists to translate concepts, themes, and storyboards into interactive slot features (reels, bonus rounds, free spins, jackpots, etc.).
- Integrate with backend services (APIs, RNG, wallet systems) for real-time betting, win calculations, and player data synchronization.
- Ensure cross-platform compatibility (desktop, iOS, Android) and responsiveness for portrait/landscape modes.
- Implement and maintain fair play features, including RNG display, RTP visibility, and responsible gaming tools (session limits, reality checks).
- Conduct thorough testing (unit, integration, and performance) and debug issues to maintain high stability and security standards.
- Stay updated with industry trends in slot mechanics, HTML5 gaming technologies, and emerging frameworks to propose innovative features.
- Adhere to strict regulatory requirements (e.g., GLI standards, jurisdiction-specific rules) and participate in certification processes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in frontend game development, with a focus on HTML5 casino/slot games or similar real-time interactive applications.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5 Canvas/WebGL, and game engines/libraries such as PixiJS, Phaser, or Babylon.js.
- Portfolio demonstrating released or live slot games (or comparable interactive projects) with smooth animations and mobile optimization.
- Experience with performance optimization techniques (e.g., sprite sheets, texture atlases, memory management) in gaming contexts.
- Familiarity with version control (Git), build tools (Webpack, Vite), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of iGaming specifics: RNG integration, bonus game logic, payline mechanics, and regulatory compliance is a strong plus.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (designers, backend devs, QA, mathematicians).
- Knowledge of responsive design principles and mobile-first development.
- Passion for online slots, casino games, and player engagement.
- Fluency in English; experience working in regulated markets is an advantage.
